Bayeux is a lovely town and very central to all of the D Day beaches and many other interesting places related to WW2.
The town is not too big so a lot can be seen in a reasonable space of time.
The British memorial cemetery there is one of the most poignant I visited.

Loved this town because it's like going back in time, when people aren't in a hurry and take pride in their town and their food, culture, etc. Proud that they survivied WW2, and the importance to educating their children about it. Had a lovely tour about that. Went to great restaurants that our hotel Hotel D'Argouges recommended for us. Le Pommier and Le Volet Qui Penche!! Like to go back when it's warmer to see the beautiful flowers in bloom, we went 3/8, so I would like to go back in April sometime.

Do not stay here, this hotel is unkept, dirty, run down, and in dire need of maintenance. The room was not what we booked, so we were forced into a tiny cramped room. I had to sleep with half of the lamp hanging over the bed. The window wouldn’t close, we were in the second floor but still unsafe
We loved our stay at Belle Normandy. The location is perfect, with beautiful grounds right on the edge of town, only a five minute walk to the cathedral and all the shops and restaurants. Our kids enjoyed the basketball hoop and would have stayed at the hotel much longer if they could have! The staff were amazing. They were friendly and helpful on recommendations, and they also seem very proud of the hotel, which was renovated from an old school. It is a very special place, and I highly recommend it.
If you’re going to Bayeux, stay here! It’s an old tower that was renovated into a beautiful open modern space with thoughtful touches. It was by far the best place we stayed in France! It’s right next to the center of town and a short walk to everything. Paula was a great host who had terrific recommendations and even helped us make reservations for dinner. There’s free street parking very close by. We wish we could have stayed longer and can’t recommend this place enough!
This hotel is beautiful. Our room was spacious and clean. It looked out over a beautiful and well manicured garden. The entire place is lovely. A lovely We felt like we were in our own private chateau! The staff could not have been more accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure everything was to your satisfaction. The location is in walking distance to everything in town. I highly recommend it. It was the best three days of our vacation in Normandy.
Flat was very comfortable, quiet and clean. We were 3, but also 4 adults (2 pairs) would have enough comfortable space to sleep there. The hosts are realy nice and prepared for us not only different flyers from all the sights around, but also recent local events for the next days. They communicate only in french, but tolerated my google translated messages, so that was all good :D Bayeux is perfect place to start the visits of Normandy (especially the Beaches of D-Day)
Beautiful setting and grounds and immaculate, huge comfortable suite! Excellent breakfast and dining. The staff were top notch and so gracious and the pool and sauna area was a real treat.... Soak in the jacuzzi and gaze over the fields spying the steeple of Bayeux Cathedral in the distance. Super location for exploring all Normandy has to offer. You will need more than a few days here!
Excellent hotel with great service from the owners and their staff. Beautiful hotel grounds in a very peaceful location. Great base to explore Normandy. For the quality of accommodation on offer the price of the rooms is very reasonable. Very good quality food and drinks offered in the restaurant. Good breakfasts. Would love to go back and stay again.
We needed one room for one night for a family of 4 and stayed in the top annex room. Perfect place to lay our heads before our Normandy tour the next morning. Girls loved popping into the pool/hot tub after a day of traveling and breakfast was perfect with lots of drink and food options. Great central location to walk around Bayeux after dinner.
Amazing stay at this lovely manor. Highly recommend it for a stay to visit Bayeux and the surrounding areas including DDAY sites along Normandy. Christine is a superb host and the property is very charming and a very relaxed place to enjoy downtime. A pleasant 10-15 minute walk into the town of Bayeux ( it doesn't feel that long).
Room was very quiet; location was very tranquil; loved on site parking; breakfast was decent but no hot meat (ie sausages); room had a kettle and was roomy; great location easy to access the roads to explore Normandy; short 10 minute walk to downtown Bayeux
A lovely town centre hotel. Well located for walks to the Memorial Museum, Cathedral and main shopping areas. Its a small hotel (2 rooms only) but its full of character. Breakfast was individually prepared and brought to the table by the proprietor.
We only stayed for a night. The hotel was ok. Very "french" vibes, which i really liked. Peace and quiet. The location was ok, about a 20-minute walk to town centre. Parking is there.
Clean bedding and towels, big and comfortable bed.
I stayed at this hotel for only two of four days because a severe storm knocked out the power and I had to leave.
But otherwise it was a good budget hotel, about 5kms from Bayeux, convenient if you have a car.
The location was fantastic and you could easily walk into Bayeux as well as drive to the Normandy beaches.
The breakfast was excellent; lovely croissants and a great cup of coffee!
location in the heart of Bayeux but the rooms were in a separate building in a nice backyard/small street with a little canal and some green space. Quaint boutique hotel.
We were on a cycling holiday of the Normandy area. The hotel was very central to all the sights and even provided a secure room to store our bicycles in each night.
